In this post, we will be looking at the top 10 Python websites out there based on website traffic that is using Python to write their backend architecture.

Python is a very useful and efficient programming language. It also supports other frameworks like DJANGO, FLASK, etc. Django is a free and open-source web application framework. A framework is a combination of certain components and packages. Python is a computer programming language often used to build websites and software, automate tasks, and conduct data analysis.

This list is about websites that have a lot of traffic and their entire backend is written in Python.

NASA uses python to track some of its testing applications, tracking suites, and processes.

Dropbox uses Python for most of its deployments and code configurations. They use this because Python supports a lot of third party integrations, it’s very easy to read and it’s cross-platform.

Pinterest is a popular photo-sharing technology. Pinterest use Python and a variety of other languages but most of their layer workflow still run on Python.

Quora is a popular question-and-answer website with a lot of professionals.

Quora is a community-based questions and answers website and app. Users post questions on any topic and other users respond. Users can sign up using Facebook, Twitter, Google, or email

Designers, Data Analysts, and non-engineers at Quora use python for their daily activities like analytics, use cases, and flow logs.

4. NETFLIX

Netflix is a subscription-based streaming service that allows our members to watch TV shows and movies without commercials on an internet-connected device. You can also download TV shows and movies to your iOS, Android, or Windows 10 device and watch without an internet connection.

Netflix uses Python to run some of its core workloads and infrastructure. Most of their code errors and deployment errors are monitored with an internal tool built using Python. Some of their core projects too are built on Python.

Reddit is a community-determined aggregator of content. It is a social platform where users submit posts that other users ‘upvote’ or ‘downvote’ based on if they like it. If a post gets lots of upvotes, it moves up the Reddit rankings so that more people can see it.

Instagram employs Python in one of the world’s largest settings. One of the core reasons why Instagram use Python is because of the algorithm workflow and how fast they can detect changes and route their workflows to their business needs.

Instagram is a popular photo-sharing website, and the backend is written in Django. Django is the largest web framework for Python.

YouTube is considered the second largest website in traffic volume next to only Google.

Python has grown rapidly and evolved and companies like YouTube use it for their product research, video control, templating, and operational task usage.
